The Fives: March 30th, 2010
Ok, so to kick off this little adventure...we'll try to start a new feature that hopefully will be done everyday. It's going to start small and we'll see if it grows or not...I'll call it The Fives. Here's the debut...
Five observations from yesterday in sports...
1. I can give no good reason why the Raiders are trying to trade for Donovan McNabb. He's a guy that doesn't seem to fit very well in their system and I'm not sure how many years he has left and how motivated he'll be moving to a situation like Oakland.
2. Everybody that thinks there's only one player on the Baylor women's basketball team (Brittany Griner)...better think again...this is a really solid team and will be an interesting matchup with UCONN on Sunday(yes, they should cruise past FSU tonight)...
3. If you're a Nets fan, rejoice!!!! You won't be making NBA history, but you're also not returning to the playoffs for quite awhile.
4. Nice to see Ernie Els having a little bit of comeback. He has the kind of momentum you like to see heading a major. (Also, nice to see him getting a little attention, since Tiger's going take all of it next week.)
5. I'm wincing every time I see Pittsburgh Steelers and the words lawsuit or assault in the same sentence. Just wondering how long it'll be before Dan Rooney comes back from Ireland with a shillelagh and starts to clean house with it.
Top 5 games to pay attention to today(in no particular order)...
1. NCAA Women's Regional Final: Kentucky vs. Oklahoma, 9:00 PM
2. Champions League Quarterfinal: Man United vs. Bayern Munich, 2:45 PM
3. NIT Semifinal: North Carolina vs. Rhode Island, 9:30 PM
4. NHL: Phoenix at Vancouver, 10:00 PM
5. CIT Championship: Pacific at Missouri State, 8:00 PM
Well, it's a start...
Have a good day...
