This all French match up guarantees that their will be a French side in the semi finals for the first time since 2004 and it looks set to be something of a difficult result to call after Lyon showing that they can beat the best of them in this cup run, by defeating Spanish giants Real Madrid.

They look like a side certainly capable of beating the domestic title leaders Bordeaux who are looking like the best team in the French league and judging by league performances, they look considerably better than Lyon.

Bordeaux have been run away leaders in their domestic league as of late and with two games in hand they do look likely to stay that way, whilst Lyon do currently reside in 5th which is hardly a prestigious position, there isn’t a lot in the league points wise.

Lyon have some continuing injuries but no fresh concerns, they will be missing Clerc and Anderson however this will not be a new concern for the home side’s coach.

Bordeaux’s preparations have not gone entirely amicably either after they had a crushing defeat to sixth place Marseille in the final of the French cup on Saturday.

This match could really go to either side, but leaning slightly towards the home side might not be a terrible pick.
