Dustin H.Mar 29, 2010

Will Power started on pole Monday morning for the Honda Grand Prix Of St Petersburg, holding off Justin Wilson. Power led almost every practice session and took pole over the weekend. The race was rain delayed Sunday until Monday morning. A decent crowd showed back up for the race as Milka Duno spun o the pace laps. Will Power started on pole the race to turn one would see drivers taking it easy as most had switched from the rain tires to slicks and drivers were on the differ'ent tires the reds or blacks.

Lap 1 Mike Conway and Dario Franchitti both spin but get going this was the first caution. Marco Andretti would make his way to the front and take the lead on lap 5 as Will Power dropped 3 spots behind Scott Dixon and Helio Castroneves. Lap 18 Milka Duno is out and Alex LLoyd would join her with mechanical failure. Vitor Meria is your leader on lap 32. Will Power had a dominant car once he was able to get back out front. Takuma Sato hit the wall ending his day early. Dan Wheldon and Mario Moraes crashed when Wheldon had mechanical failure going into turn one and hit Moraes hard taking both out. Scott Dixon who had a bad start to the race with contact with Moraes only had his day go worse when he crashed late in the race. Tony Kanaan and Marco Andretti both qualified well only to have problems in the race. EJ Viso had a great race going and was using pit strategy to his advantage when Vitor Meria pitted with 28 laps to go only to have a gearbox fail. Samona Di Silvestro and Graham Rahal got together in the closing laps, Samona had to come to pit lane and change the front wing.
