This is what i think...

You get great players, then you get players with the potential to be great. Not all these players live up to the expectation that many see in them.

For me personally Diaby is a player with potential, his 23 he could earn the tag 'The Best Midfielder'. Whether he does it or not, time will only tell.

He hasn't earned it as yet, his performance might be impressive but in comparison to other Arsenal players like Song, Nasri etc.

Yes Fabregas is amongst the best, see the word I very carefully used was 'amongst', because even a player with Fabregas's ability isn't the best.

When you rate players, you could get carried away, passion for a particular team usually misguides your judgement.

I'm a United fan, a serious United fan that is, yet i don't think Paul Scholes is the best midfielder, his amongst the greats at United yes agreed, but in Europe or in the World no.

Currently there's just ONE man that has earned the right to be called the best, in the central midfield role, and that simply Xavi Hernandez. Consistency, etiquette and awareness. His the Best....

So your argument isn't valid whether you compare him to other within Arsenal because Fabregas is the best Arsenal has, Viera was the best i've seen at Arsenal...Maybe Diaby will grow into something close to these players.

So respectfully i have to disagree with you, remember there's so many other central midfielders that are far above Diaby

Gerrard, Lampard, Iniesta, Xavi, Kaka, Fabregas, Pirlo and the list goes on...

Now imagine you put Diaby next to these names....nope!!! It won't work.

Great Players often are remembered by their achievement and contribution to a particular club, young players need to bring something really special to a team if they want to be recognized Internationally, and Diaby with all his potential, ability and skill hasn't done anything great at Arsenal, YET!

He looks like someone who could make the central position his own in time with experience and the correct guidance.
