Arsenal's Manuel Almunia Has Wikipedia Page Corrected

Yoosof FarahMar 27, 2010

Following his less than impressive performance against Birmingham City at St. Andrews, Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has had his Wikipedia page altered.

In the Gunners' important clash with Birmingham, Almunia felt the wrath of Arsenal fans as he made a goalkeeping howler to virtually gift the opposition a dramatic late equaliser, after his side took a 1-0 lead through Samir Nasri.

And now such disappointment from Arsenal fans at their Spanish keeper has not only filtered through forums, blogs, and articles on Bleacher Report, but also through the main point of information on his ego, his Wikipedia page.

It's the first result that appears when his name is put into a Google search engine, and most often it is the first page users look at then they want to find information on the player.

Users now will find when they search Manuel Almunia on Wikipedia and look at his career thus far, "He was sold to a diluded Arsene Wenger for a fee of £50 rising to £75 in August 2009."

Reading the sub-headline of the paragraph containing all the information on his Arsenal career, it will say, "Arsenal: This has to END this year", hinting the Spaniard should be sold this summer.

"On March 27th 2010 he scored his 2nd own goal of his career, with many Arsenal fans agreeing that he is the most useless keeper in history," the editor of the Almunia article went on to say.

That was before adding, "He is also known for being a massive liability. On the 27th March 2010, it was reported that Manuel was voted the worst Arsenal goalkeeper in the history of the club.

"He went on to state 'I am very proud of achieving this, me and my team mates believe I am the greatest thing since Nicklas Bendtner's pink boot."

And to add further comedy value, another editor of the page added information on his international career.

The editor stated, "As if he's good enough anyway (to get a call-up by Spain), he's more likely getting a call up to Clown College F.C. Under 21s. His hero is the ever reliable Fabien Barthez."
