New NBA Free-Throw Rule Explained

Celtics Sign Patrick O'Bryant

Ryan BostonJul 11, 2008

According to both the Boston Globe and Herald the Celtics have found their backup center.  Free agent Patrick O'Bryant has agreed to a two-year deal that will make him Kendrick Perkins' primary backup heading into the 2008-09 season.

Drafted with the 9th overall selection in the 2006 draft out of Bradley University, O'Bryant was never a fit for the run-and-gun Golden State Warriors.

Free agents Chris Andersen and David Harrison were both also in the running to be signed, however General Manager Danny Ainge decided O'Bryant was the right fit for the new-look Celtics bench.
