The Impact WrestleMania 26 Could Have On The Wrestling World.
This Sunday, the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania 26 will take place. This is WWE’s and arguably pro wrestling’s biggest event. But the impacts of this Sunday’s event could linger in the wrestling world for a long time.
At a time when many fans, myself included, are sick and tired of WWE’s PG-Era, crappy storylines, re-use of matches, guest hosts, and most of all hornswoggle, this could prove to be a turning point in the fan base of WWE.
TNA Wrestling is on the rise, despite what ratings and WWE committee members think. While TNA does lack the firework show and flashy neon lights, its matches are just as good as any WWE has put on recently. In fact I think that’s what TNA actually does to separate itself from WWE: wrestle.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
For example, on the “WrestleMania Rewind” night of Raw 3 big matches were scheduled to take place along with Steve Austin as the guest host. The match I was most looking forward to, Shawn Michaels for Chris Jericho ended with Jericho walking out of the ring so Edge could attack him. I understand the WM build up but can’t the match at least have a clean finish?
It is harder now than ever for TNA to compete with WWE with it being WrestleMania season, but after Sunday fans must make a choice: TNA or WWE?
Sunday’s event is one to look forward to, but will it be able to keep dying fans hooked on a dry product? Think about this way, half the fan base is going to be pissed off at the end of the Taker-Michaels match because either Taker’s streak or Michael’s career will be gone. Many more will have a hard time sitting through the WWE Championship match for the pure fact that Batista and Cena couldn’t wrestle their way out of paper bag. If Edge wins, well we all knew that was going to happen. Bret is going to beat Vince. Christian is going to win MITB. Who cares about the random tag title match? Rey Mysterio will beat Punk. Point being this year’s event seems predictable, much like the WWE today.
TNA may have committed wrestling suicide by challenging Raw during WrestleMania season, but maybe they took just enough focus off WWE to make their mark on wrestling and in a way affect the rival’s biggest show by forcing fans to talk about the Monday night war instead of WrestleMania.
With the new PPV face lift and lack of wrestling, this could be WWE’s last chance to keep fans around that otherwise, might cross the line.
