"Transfer Fever For Manchester United"

David wants to leave Valencia -- as simple as that. He wants a bigger club and in Spain. This leaves us with two possible destinations; Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barca have made a bid for him, one better than Real's, but seemingly not better than Chelsea's.

Valencia prefers to sell him to Chelsea firstly because they are not direct rivals, and secondly because they offer more money. Now, guess what? Villa is whinning about it and wants Real who are refusing to up their offer. If Valencia accepts Real bid of 30m euros plus Negredo then Villa comes, otherwise he stays or goes to Barcelona. He is no longer our priority.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to check on Villa on a regular basis, and, according to theDaily Star, he is keen to pair the Spaniard with WorldPlayer of the Year candidate Wayne Rooney, in a strike duo that would be unmatched in world football.

The 28-year-old hitman has the interest of many of the top clubs in the world, and Manchester United will face tough competition from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona,Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool to sign the Spain international.

Manchester United will make a £45m bid for Real Madrid and Barcelonatarget David Villa, who told Chelsea last week he wanted to stay in Spain. One way or another, someone's going to end up looking daft when it all comes down.

But Manchester United are not at all keen to listen to all this rumours... they are focusing for Karim Benzema.

In my view, I think there are areas which are in need for an immediate strength. First, the front line are definitely in need for another striker, we saw how the team forced to play Rooney alone upfront against Chelsea due to Dimitar Berbatov’ injury. Macheda still young to be considered as a first team player so we are left with a three strikers and we know that to compete in more than one competition we need real alternatives (remember during the late 90s and the start of the new millennium, we got Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, Solskjaer and Cruyff). We should also look for another classy winger as Nani is struggling to achieve what the fans are looking for and Park Ji Sung is still in await for his comeback and finally a natural right-back is needed specially if Wes Brown won’t be given another chance to play in his favorite position

David Villa – Valencia:

I have talked about the possibility of David Silva joining Man United last month and I will explain why I like this player style. I watched few games for David Silva with Valencia this season and he impressed me with his skills and vision. He usually plays down the left wing but he is a typical playmaker for his team and a factor when talking about goals that his team-mate David Villa scores. Reports suggest Man United will bid for the pair and I am sure all fans will be satisfied with such a deal.

Luis Alberto Suárez – Ajax:

Suarez is another option who can play upfront and as winger. The Uruguayan international is only 22 years old and this would fit Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United long term plans. He is the captain of his team and so far, he could manage to score 21 goals in 20 games this season.

Maicon – Inter:

When talking about a talented right back in current football world, no one can ignore Brazilian international Maicon. While United are having Patrice Evra who is the best left back in the world at the moment, I think adding Maicon to the right is what the squad is missing, an experienced player who can contribute in assists and goals without forgetting his abilities in marking and tacking the opponents’ attack. A good offer for Inter may persuade Jose Mourinho, who is looking to be SAF successor, to sell the player.

• According to the media, there are many other players who may join Manchester United but I didn’t include them in my list. Many of them seem to be summer targets rather than January. I also don’t fancy seeing players like Frank Ribery who will play with United for two seasons before asking to be transferred to Real Madrid!
