Tiger Woods: 10 Minutes and Love in the Past Tense

Tom EdringtonSenior Writer IMarch 22, 2010

Typically when you love someone, well, you love them, past, present, and maybe in the future as well.

When you "loved" them, well, that's definitely past tense.

Anyone notice that when Tiger Woods was asked on Sunday why he got married in the first place, he said that he "loved" Elin?

Perhaps that was the most telling word in the 10 minutes that the Fallen One so generously threw at the Golf Channel and ESPN.

So there was perky Kelly Tilghman getting up close and personal with the Phantom of Filthy Texts this past Sunday at Isleworth.

Yes, our cute little Kelly, who once played golf at Duke was face-to-face with the Dean of Deviant Sexual Behavior, aka Eldrick Woods.

Eldrick took a little time from his mental rehab to have a chat with Kelly and Tom Rinaldi from ESPN.

Five minutes each, fire away.

Yes, Tiger reiterated he's a guilty son-of-a-gun.

He said he's remorseful and even went so far as to hope that a few folks might even clap for him at Augusta.

Heck, they're so darn polite at Augusta they might even clap for Osama Bin Laden, if he was lucky enough to have a tee time.

Sure they'll applaud for Eldrick.

Why wouldn't they?

After all, the did manage to give us all 10 minutes of his time.

But there's just one image that still very disturbing in all of this.

Forget the wrecked Escalade and the whatever-the-number is with the gal-pals.

I can still see Eldrick showing up in the parking lot of a tournament, heading for the locker room. A young boy comes running up, just one child. One boy about eight-years-old, hoping for a Woods autograph.

Tiger blew the kid off. Walked right past him. Tiger saw him and just ignored him.

Obviously Woods didn't know a camera was rolling.

That's the Tiger Woods who is even more deplorable of a human being than this mad-womanizer we've come to know the past four months.

He's simply not a nice person.

And now everyone knows.
