It's More Madness!: MSU's Korie Lucious Sinks Maryland at the Buzzer!

After receiving a late scare by Maryland, Michigan State G Korie Lucious hit a three-point shot at the end of the game to help Michigan State win 85-83.

Even though he only had 13 points in the game, his last three points helped Michigan State avoid a loss in which they were up by 12 points with 5 minutes remaining in the game.

Greivis Vasquez from Maryland had seven points in the last 1:30 and hit a jump shot with seven seconds left to put Maryland up by one before Lucious' three-point shot.

Michigan State did have some bad news though since Guard Kalin Lucas went out in the first half with an ankle injury.

The player of the game though, was Darrell Summers who had 26 points with 10-14 shooting from the field.

For Maryland though, the player who stepped up was Vasquez. He had 24 points and seven assists with 17 points in the second half to keep Maryland in the running.

Now Michigan State must play a tough Northern Iowa team in the Sweet 16 with the winner having a chance to play Ohio State or Tennessee.

We still do not know the condition of Lucas, but hopefully he will be able to suit up against the Panthers.
