Will WrestleMania XXVI Be The Next, Or Surpass, WrestleMania X-Seven

With WrestleMania XXVI just around the corner, I can't help but wonder if it will live up to the hype that the IWC is guaranteeing.

It's quite plausable that it wil be one of the top WrestleMania's ever. Written down, it could be the best but it will all depend on the matches. I believe Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels II could surpass Rock vs Austin. Hell, Taker vs HBK 1 already did but one match can't make a solid PPV.

WWE World Championship: Batista (c) vs John Cena

No Holds Barred Grudge Match: Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon

Money in the Bank: Christian vs Dolph Ziggler vs Kane vs Shelton Benjamin vs Jack Swagger vs MVP vs Matt Hardy vs Evan Bourne vs Drey McIntyre

Street Fight: Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk

Unified Tag Team Championship: Sho-Miz (c) vs John Morrison and R-Truth

Random Match on the Card Match: Triple H vs Sheamus

Triple Threat Legacy Match: Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes vs Ted DiBiase

Now First Off Where is Kofi Kingston in the midst of this? Removed from MITB only to NOT have a match for US or IC title (considering those participants are already in matches). Why have a useless match to potentially not make it a perfect `Mania? (HHH vs Sheamus). Why are the US and IC champs in the same match not defending the titles?

6 Man Tag Team: Tazz + APA (Bradshaw + Farooq) w/ Jacqueline defeated Right to Censor (GoodFather, Val Venis + Bull Buchanan)

WWF Hardcore Championship: Kane defeated Raven (c) and The Big Show

European Championship: Eddie Guerrero w/Perry Saturn defeated Test (c)

Singles: Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit

Womens Championship Match: Chyna defeated Ivory (c)

Street Fight w/ Mick Foley as Special Guest Referee: Shane McMahon defeated Vince McMahon w/Stephanie McMahon

Triple Threat Tag Team TLC Tag Team Titles Match: E&C Edge and Christian defeated Dudley Boyz and Hardy Boyz.

Gimmick Battle Royal: Iron Shiek defeated 20 other superstars to win, last eliminating Hillbilly Jim.

Streak: The Undertaker defeated Triple H

No DQ WWF Championship match: Stone Cold defeated The Rock (c)

First off, once again, I can't complain except for the one match that was there for one reason: Gimmick Battle Royal. That was there for people to have a toilet break and/or a meal.  Back then the Women's division was strong and worth watching. That's the only downfall for me on the card other than a few botches here and there and some bland spots of wrestling.

The Matches that did not or will not make either a perfect PPV.

1. WrestleMania X-Seven Gimmick Battle Royal. It could've been done without it. It was a bunch of Legends, some has beens, that were hired by WWE to perform a stupid match where they start the beginning of the end of their WWE Programming Air-Time.

2. WrestleMania XXVI Triple H vs Sheamus. Sheamus has a lot of bad matches; a majority won via DQ. This match is only there because a LOT of IWC fans know that Hunter brought Sheamus to this business and think he's the next Hunter. Sheamus has proven he can't yet have a good match. This match only happened because Triple H hasn't been involved in much and probably complained that due to him sitting back doing nothing, he wasn't on the card.

The Matches That Stand Out 

How I see it now WrestleMania XXVI is somewhat like an opponent WrestleMania X-Seven. If people say "This will be like/better than...." it is competing with that event and now, post WrestleMania, people will be reacting either:

1. "This wasn't as good as WrestleMania X-Seven"
2. "This was way better than WrestleMania X-Seven"
3. "I can't tell. I choose WrestleMania.... because it was more of my era".

That's how I'm seeing "WrestleMania XXVI vs WrestleMania X-Seven" and how I see the matches based on booking, possible outcome, similarity, hype and how it sounds written down.

"WrestleMania XXVI - History Will Be Made. Will you be there?"

A lot could be thought from the tagline.

1. Takers streak ends.
2. HBK Retires.
3. Bret Hart has an amazing match.
4. John Cena loses.
5. Best WrestleMania.
6. Sets a seating record at the University Stadium.
7. Shelton Benjamin finally gets a push.
8. Bret Hart is injured (I hope not though)
9. CM Punk is shaved bald/ Rey joins SES
10. Tag division will either Live or Die.

There are 10 out of many possible outcomes.

Meaning and a Reason to Watch.

Well we've all heard of how hot the rivalry between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock ended up but we need to think about the meaning/history behind the matches.

Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels II: Takers 17 year long, carefully planned streak ends out of a 26 year wrestling career. HBK's 22 year long werstling career. (He took 4 years off).

The Rock vs Steve Austin: The classic Heel vs Villain for, basically, supremity of the Face of WWF.

No Holds Barred, Vince vs Bret. This has a lot of reason. Bret's 12 year return to WWE wrestling vs Vince's... There's a lot of reason to watch.

Shane vs Vince: This was more of a match to see Shane beat up his own Dad. I'd watch it, I adhore Vince for a lot of his decisions.

Just a short sample of some reasons of the matches. All the other matches could be compared to another one way or the other.
