The people have spoken—here are the matchups for round two in the South region.

(1) Duke Blue Devils vs. (9) Louisville Cardinals

The Duke fans came out in full force to vote on their team to the second round.

Louisville bear-ly beat the Bears of Cal and now face a tough fanbase.

Blue Devils win because their fans will vote for them.

(12) Utah State Aggies vs. (4) Purdue Boilermakers

The Aggies won the color tiebreaker over Texas A&M.

The Boilermakers rolled over the Saints in round one.

A boilermaker is cooler than an aggie, so advantage Purdue.

(6) Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. (14) Sam Houston State Bearkats

The Irish fanbase also came out to put their team into the second round.

Bearkat with a K—I said they were going to win because of the unique spelling.

Spelling does not matter in this matchup with the Irish fanbase coming to vote.

(7) Richmond Spiders vs. (2) Villanova Wildcats

The Spiders eliminated a possible all-Irish Sweet 16 matchup between the Irish and the Gaels.

The Wildcats got in because a wildcat can maul a colonial.

Wildcats can eat spiders, but spiders are mostly poisonous, so Richmond takes it.

Make sure you vote in the poll to advance your team, and come back Monday for the Sweet 16 installment of the Mascot Showdown.
