The Riddler Reports On…
A follow up story on TNA not putting a recast of Impact on Thursday nights.
As I reported in a past article (You can see it here)
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/363745-trs-is-tna-laying-the-ground-work-for-a-new-show-reportopinion
TNA was internally concerned that such a high volume of viewers tuned into Thursday’s TNA iMPACT! replay, fearing that the Thursday showing would cut into the Monday audience. TNA President Dixie Carter Tweeted, “TNA iMPACT! will NOT re-air on Thursdays. If you can’t watch LIVE Mondays 9-11pm ET on SPIKE, please DVR it. PLEASE RT.”
But it has been reported from PWInsider.com
— Spike made the call to give TNA iMPACT! a replay early yesterday. Many in TNA didn’t even know about the replay until it was advertised online. The plan was to do the replay last week, and then for the next several weeks to run feature films between 9-11PM. Last week’s strong replay rating seems to indicate that there is still a Thursday audience for the show.
— Dixie Carter had this to say about the replay: “The large # of our viewers decided to watch iMPACT! replay last week. That made Spike want to re-air the show again tonight.”
So looks I was wrong in thinking TNA was going to do a new show and it been on Thursdays… or was I?
Okay yes this is a great move because lets be honest Spike’s original shows aside from TNA suck donkey b@lls and I think a replay from Impact would do a lot better that a movie.
But I still dont scrap the idea that their going to make a new show.
If not Thursday then why not Tuesdays?
TNA and Spike are feeling pretty bold right now, why not go against 2 WWE shows?
Right now NXT is doing about 1.0 every week.
A X-Division show could easy defeat them in rantings and maybe even steal some viewers over to Monday Nights.
Of course this is just me thinking out loud. It’s not to be taken has facts, but like I always say Time tells all.
And for anyone wondering, here is the card for Sunday’s TNA Destination X PPV:
- Kevin Nash and Eric Young vs. Scott Hall and Sean Waltman (If Scott Hall and Sean Waltman win, they get TNA contracts.)
- Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson
- TNA Knockouts Title Match: Tara © vs. Daffney
- TNA X-Division Title Match: Doug Williams © vs. Shannon Moore
- TNA Tag Team Title Match: Matt Morgan and Hernandez © vs. Beer Money
- Ladder Match (For A Shot At The TNA X-Division Title): Kazarian vs. Daniels vs. Amazing Red vs. Brian Kendrick
- Ultimate X Match (For A Shot At The TNA Tag Team Titles): The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me
- TNA Title Match: AJ Styles © vs. Abyss
What do you think readers?
Does a new TNA show make you think it’s a good idea? & Does going against NXT make sense?
Does putting a replay of Impact on Thursdays seem like a good move from Spike?
