Will Christian Ever Win The WWE Title?
Well for those that like short articles, the answer in my opinion is simply No. Short and sweet perhaps but having read the excellent Death of WCW , the answer seems unlikely to ever change.
Take for instance the WCW invasion that occurred in 2001, with few exceptions those that came over after the WWE buyout failed to register any success of note. It was argued by Reynolds and Alvarez that McMahon simply did not want any WCW star to triumph because it would prove that Turner had had the superior brand.
This is perhaps not surprising, give that the WWE had just won the first Monday Night War, but it gives rise to the question of whether any superstar who is not a WWE loyalist can win serious gold ?

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
With this question in mind, focus turns to Wrestlemania 26 and the Money in the Bank Match . Odds-on favorite Christian is regarded by many as the likely winner and yet his past days as Christian Cage, TNA Champion, could count against him.
His success and recognition as a heavyweight performer came largely at TNA with his return to WWE being largely disappointing. In a pattern not that dissimilar to Matt Hardy , Christian seemingly wins over the fans but not the WWE hierarchy. The result of such a demotion has seen Christian and his Peeps in ECW and Hardy fighting with the Great Khali. Not exactly the right preparation for the next generation of Champions.
Hardy has had his injuries and his link to his brother will do him no favours but Christian is fit, popular and more than capable of leading the WWE. If we think that the Miz, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, and even Hornswoggle has received more mainstream air time, the career of Christian is stalling, especially following his defeat to Sheamus on his first night at Raw.
And so with many predicting that Wrestlemania 26 , is his time to shine, I can not help but think that his time may never come. A desire to leave and make a bigger name for himself at TNA may have worked short term but critically it may have had the long term effect of relegating him to a jobber in the WWE.
Loyalty for McMahon seems to pay off with titles and honors. Those that leave and then come back are not guaranteed such a lucrative career.
Time will tell if such a doomed prediction is correct but hopefully Christian can make the breakthrough and win a WWE title for the Peeps .
