Darryl Tapp Traded to Philly

Darryl Tapp has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal includes Chris Clemons and a 2010 fourth round pick.

I'm also scratching my head...Chris who?

Chris Clemons, a 6'2", 240-pound DE/LB.

Clemons started his career in Oakland after being drafted as a rookie free agent in 2003. Clemons, a seven-year veteran, had an average season last year for Eagles.

2009 Stat Totals: nine Tckls, seven solo Tckls, and three sacks

Career Totals: 53 Tckls, 38 solo Tckls, and 20 sacks

The only value I see here is the fourth round pick.

Why is Seattle trading a DE coming into his prime?

I think it's becoming more evident that the Seattle Seahawks' front office is letting the memory of the old Seahawks fade. Tapp will be missed.

I am, however, still truly behind the decisions of Pete Carroll and John Schneider. Let's hope for a playoff run in two to three years.

So now we have released our starting S Deon Grant, traded DE Darryl Tapp and QB Seneca Wallace, and lost WR Nate Burleson to free agency.

Is this the beginning of a rebuilding process, or is this Pete and Co. targeting a player projected in the fourth, or is it as simple as the fact that the Seahawks are moving forward with a 3-4 defense?

Only time will tell.
