First, I like his style. His stand up technique is way above average for MMA and apparently he's a black belt as well. He's an aggressive fighter that looks for the kill all the time. I like that. I do well against those fighters. I think the fight is going to start as a Muay Thai match and he'll soon start trying to take me down like in my fight with Shogun. I'll be working a lot on my striking, my wrestling and getting back up. I want to win both fight of the night and KO of the night bonuses! Do one fight and win a lot of money! - Cyrille Diabate
French striker Cyrille Diabate is set to face Brazilian Luiz Cane in a light-heavyweight bout at UFC 114 on May 29. Diabate signed with the UFC in early February, and is looking forward to showing off his Muay Thai skills in his first fight inside the Octagon.
In an interview with TheGarv.com, Diabate made it clear that he will have to work on his weaknesses (wrestling and his ground game) in order to be Cane. Diabate is well-known for his striking abilities.
Fans of The Ultimate Fighter may know Diabate from the ninth season, where he served as one of Dan Henderson's co-coaches.
UFC 114 will be headlined by the long-awaited and much-hyped fight between Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson.
