Michigan Monday: Night of Champions Recap
As you know by now, Michigan hosted the second annual Night of Champions this weekend, which serves three purposes for the Wolverines.
1) It's another Junior Day where 2011 recruits can visit Ann Arbor.
2) It's the end of winter conditioning with some fun competitions.
3) It's the official kickoff to spring practice.
Some of the numbers that were leaked from the competitions include:
Fastest player: Martavious Odoms with a 4.35 40. Yes, a better time than Denard Robinson.
Fastest lineman: Adam Patterson with a 4.69 40.
Mike Cox had a 3'9" vertical jump. That's NBA quality!
2011 Players that made it in
Kevin Williams, DT from Ohio.
WR from Saginaw DeAnthony Arnett was a surprise visit.
Chris Rock (not that Chris Rock): I’m going to Notre Dame’s junior day next weekend, and I might go to some other spring practices. I haven’t really planned a lot out yet. I don’t have a time line, it’s just going to be when I feel it’s right. I haven’t come up with a top list, because I haven’t seen enough schools, but my interest in Michigan is very high. I really like what they have to offer.
Jarrell Oliver, a 5'9" RB from Texas.
Jordan Walsh, a 6'3", 275-pound offensive guard from Illinois, was the only recruit in attendance to receive a new offer.
Charles Burks, a DE from California, was in town but has not gotten a Michigan offer yet.
It's been a tough year for Michigan sports. The football team didn't go to a bowl game, the basketball team didn't even make the NIT, and the hockey team has underperformed.
Now this: Michigan's last known Wolverine was found dead over the weekend. I guess you could call him a real Michigan man. There is a picture of the little guy on the link.
