Monday Meet and Greet: Marco "Kapt'n" Huck

Tyler CurtisMar 15, 2010

The Monday meet and greet will be a weekly feature where I will profile a champion in depth. It will be either a champion who has recently defended his title or just a champion that I think people should know more about.

This very first feature will be on Marco “Kapt’n” Huck, the WBO cruiserweight champion. He defended his title this Saturday against American Adam “Swamp Donkey” Richards with a third round knock out. It was his second defense of his title.

Lets get to the particulars of Marco Huck.

Rounds Boxed: 173

KO Percentage: 72.41 %

Fight I Want to See: Steve Cunningham. This is the most interesting fight for me because it would be avenging his only career loss and it would be against The Ring No. 1 cruiserweight.

What is in his future: Since he just defended his title this weekend he has nothing scheduled as of now but his No. 1 mandatory is Denis Lebedev (20-0 15 KO), which would be a very interesting fight.

He also has Alexander Alexeev (19-1 17 KO) calling him out, who is the No. 2 ranked cruiserweight by the WBO, in what would be a very entertaining fight. If he goes with Lebedev or Alexeev it would be a very good fight.
