What the Hell Happened to Tim Sylvia??

Tim Sylvia, 34 years old, 6-foot-8 and a heavyweight fighter. A couple of years ago, Tim was regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world. He was a former UFC heavyweight champion!

But things started to change for poor old Tim when in a match that he was clearly winning, he was put in a guillotine and submitted by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria. Being submitted by Big Nog is nothing to be ashamed of as he’s like the god of Jiu Jitsu!

However for some strange reason not completely known, this loss seemed to turn poor Tim into a terrible MMA fighter.

The reason for this is unknown. It may have been caused by his departure from the UFC, or maybe Tim just turned retarded.

July 19, 2008, may be considered up until that day Tim’s worst ever day on this earth. Tim faced the great Fedor Emilianenko on this day.

Although it would have been a surprise should he have won, it was also a surprise that he was submitted in 36 seconds after getting the hell beaten out of him.

This should have been Tim’s worst moment, but Tim decided to lower himself even further

Tim was rocked by the previous two defeats and decided to take a step back and fight an MMA newcomer/old man (But Boxing legend) in Ray Mercer.

Ray had already had one MMA fight and that was against Kimbo Slice in his first MMA fight. Kimbo managed to submit Mercer in 1:12. That’s right, Kimbo submitted him.

If Kimbo Slice could submit him in his first fight, then the MMA veteran Tim Sylvia should be able to destroy Ray Mercer...well, it kinda didn’t happen like that.

Tim came into that fight weighing 310 pounds and was knocked out by the first punch in 9 seconds. 9 SECONDS!! Thus marking the new worst day in Tim’s MMA history and possibly his life.

Tim did bounce back from this devastating loss however to defeat a complete unknown fighter by the name of Jason Riley, so it’s not all bad news for Tim.

Apparently, Tim was supposed to fight Paul Buentello, but his manager decided that Tim should probably face a weaker opponent.

Now you may be saying “Patrick, quit playa hating on Tim,” or “Why you writing an article on Tim, Patrick, he’s old news?”

Well if you are let me just say that I’m actually a fan of Tim’s. He may not be my favourite, but I did feel sad for him after he was knocked out cold by Ray Mercer.

Why I’m writing this article now, is because of the rumoured fight Tim is possible going to be having. A fight with Mariusz Pudzianowski.

For those of you who don’t know who that is, let me tell you. He is the winner of the World’s strongest man competition 5 times and general massive person. If you saw his first fight, then you saw how dominant he can be.

Did I mention how massive he is?

This article is not only written to inform readers of Tim Sylvia’s downfall, but also as a plea to Tim not to take the fight against Pudzianowski.

If he does, I fear that he may die. Tim is clearly not back up to the standard he once was and should he get into the cage with Pudzianowski, despite his lack of experience, I can’t see how he could win.

So please Tim don’t fight the world’s strongest man just yet. Fight someone easier, like Wes Sims.

You could easily beat Sims, he’s been getting fatter and fatter, and soon he’ll be fatter than you. Then once your back to full fitness, then maybe try your hand at the world’s strongest man.
