Arsenal Player Ratings Vs Hull 2-1

Callum D'SouzaMar 14, 2010

Nicklas Bendtner saved Arsenal some blushes with a last gasp strike to ensure the Gunners took all three points against a 10 men Hull City. Some appalling refereeing and the wasting of chances almost cost Arsenal the win but they held on and are now right in contention for the title.

Player Ratings

Manuel Almunia:7: Another tidy performance from the Spaniard. Dealt with what came his way and probably deserved a clean sheet.

Bacary Sagna:7: Strong and solid defending down the right and was a solid contributor in attack, assisting Eboue down the right nicely and controlling his crosses for once.

Sol Campbell:6: Unluckily conceded a penalty which allowed Hull to equalize. But provided a relatively good showing but was off the pace at times.

Thomas Vermaelen:8: The signing of the season put in another strong shift. Was highly physical and cut down a number of threatening attacks.

Gael Clichy:8: Impressive from the Frenchman. Dominated the left side in defence and got forward when necessary.

Denilson:6: Up and down from the Brazilian. His late strike allowed Bendtner to pounce and net the winner but was overpowered at times in the midfield.

Abou Diaby:7.5: Easily the best out of the three midfielders. Worked hard and always threatening with the ball. Was also strong when defending.

Samir Nasri:6: Nothing like the performance against Porto mid-week. But it was evident he was fatigued. A few bright moments but really a lacklustre performance before he was subbed.

Emmanuel Eboue:6.5: Struggled at times but did have a few good runs. Lacks that final ball instinct.

Nicklas Bendtner:8: Backed up his impressive showing at Porto with another strong shift. Held up play nicely and provided some nice touches. Added another to his tally and nicked the points.

Andrei Arshavin:7:  A moment of brilliance paired with some wasteful shooting. Did a "Bendtner" by missing clear cut chances but all in all a strong effort. Took his goal sensationally.

Substitutes

Theo Walcott:7: Came on and his pace and balance immediately sparked the Arsenal attack.
