Of the four NCAA basketball betting tournament finales on Sunday, none may be more meaningful than that of the ACC. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (22-11, 15-11-1 ATS) could still find themselves playing for their NCAA Tournament lives as they take on the Duke Blue Devils (28-5, 18-12-2 ATS), who are probably going to sew up a #1 seed in the dance with a ‘W’. The Jackets may still be in a tad bit of trouble if they get blown out in spite of the fact that they have wins over North Carolina, Maryland, and NC State in this tournament. Duke hasn’t looked fantastic, but it has gotten the job done, winning close games against both Virginia and Miami.

Georgia Tech went -10 in the turnover battle against NC State, but it still found a way to play good enough defense to escape with another win. The Jackets held the Wolfpack to just 30.6% shooting from the floor. This is a team that has a major free throw shooting problem that could come back to bite it in the rear. HC Paul Hewitt’s club only shot 59.4% from the charity stripe on Saturday (in spite of the fact that G D’Andre Bell went 6/6 and F Zack Peacock went 4/4), which didn’t help matters for a team that is only shooting 64.5% there this year.
The Dookies have only covered two NCAA basketball spreads since before Valentine’s Day, but Coach K won’t be bothered by that as long as his club keeps winning. To no one’s surprise, Saturday was another great game for the trio of G Nolan Smith, G Jon Scheyer, and F Kyle Singler, who combined to score 55 points. That’s right on par for their average points per game of 53.6. The Blue Devils can play some major defense as well. Opposing squads are only shooting 27.9% from three point range against this team, which is a big reason why it is only conceding 61.7 points per game.
These two teams split the regular season series, with Georgia Tech winning 71-67 in Atlanta and Duke winning 86-67 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Dookies are 6-4 ATS in their L/10 college basketball betting battles with the Yellow Jackets.
