Chapman's Game-Saving Play 😱

Evan Turner and Ohio State Basketball

Billy GeorgeMar 13, 2010

A serendipitous air filled the stadium as the Ohio State men's basketball team tipped off their first game in the Big Ten tournament.

After Evan Turner's desperation, game-winning 3-ball from nearly half court, the Buckeye basketball team advanced in the tournament, beating the Michigan Wolverines 69 to 68. For those of you, who missed the game, follow this link to check out his ridiculous shot.

Turner has been clutch all year, stepping up at times when the team needed him most.

He has shown NBA potential game in-and-game out and something that's scary is the following comparison to one of basketball's greatest players of all time: Michael Jordan.

Let's just take a peek at their junior year statistical comparison shall we?

Michael Jordan: 19.6 PPG, 2.1 APG, 5.4 RPG, 1.1 BPG, 1.6 SPG

Evan Turner: 19.5 PPG, 5.8 APG, 9.4 RPG, 0.9 BPG, 1.8 SPG

Turner put up better numbers this year (so far) than arguably the greatest basketball player ever!

The more important thing for Buckeye basketball fans, however, is that the Scarlet and Gray advance in the Big Ten tournament, keeping their No. 1 NCAA tournament seed hopes alive.

After a near upset and Minnesota upsetting No. 3-seeded Michigan State in overtime, it's fair to say that the Big Ten championship is up for grabs and is within any remaining team's reach!

God bless and GO BUCKS!!!
