WEC 48: Additional Bouts Announced for PPV Event
WEC 48 will mark the organizations first ever venture into the world of pay per view.
Several bouts had already been announced including the Main event of the night. Brazilian knockout artist and World Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo will defend his title against former champion Urijah Faber.
The Featherweight division gets a boost on the card will Cub Swanson (14-3) returning to action to face top prospect Chan Sung Jung (10-1). The bout will mark the organizational debut for Jung and will see Swanson returning to action for the first time of 2010.
Takeya Mizugaki(12-4-2) looks to rebound from a loss that he suffered to top bantamweight Scott Jorgensen. His opponent, jiujitsu ace Rani Yahya(15-5) will also be looking to get back in the win column as he suffered a TKO loss to Joseph Benavidez at WEC 45 last December.
The third bout that the WEC confirmed features hard hitting Brandon Visher (13-0) whom is undefeated with 13 wins as a professional. Kyle Dietz (9-1) will be stepping in to face Visher and is looking to snap a unsuccessful streak in the organization as he has went 0-2 in his WEC career.
A bout between Brad "One Punch" Pickett(18-4) and Demetrious Johnson(5-0) will take place in the 135lb. division. Pickett was successful in his organizational debut submitting the aforementioned Kyle Dietz via Peruvian Necktie.
Additional bouts will be added to the April 24 card in the upcoming weeks. Thus far, the event has taken shape quite well and looks as follows.
