Michigan Thursday: Athletic Director Loves Two Million Dollar Pay Cut
Hypothetical question for you: You're a CEO of a major company (Domino's Pizza) and make $2.6 million a year. You get a call from an organization that needs improvement and stabilization that you were once a part of and still love to this day. This organization obviously needs leadership, and they have targeted you as the new captain of the ship.
The catch is, they can't pay what you make now because if you take this new job, one of your highest profile employees already makes that much. They can offer you about $600K a year, but two of your employees individually earn millions more per year. Do you want the job?
Strange isn't? But this is the life of new Michigan Athletic Director David Brandon these days. He took a two million dollar pay cut and seems to love it. Maybe it really isn't about the money. Maybe the benefits were better? What, no dental! :)
