Why Doesn't The Selection Committee Include "Basketball People" ???

Does any March Madness fan ever take the time to check out who the members of the Selection Committee for the Big Dance are ???   Of course not, we're all too busy watching the end of the conference season, then the conference tournaments, all in expectation of Selection Sunday ...

So this year, while yawning profusely during the early days of conference tournaments, I took a look and found that each and every member is an Athletic Director at some university, or a Conference Commissioner ... and no member has any modern day basketball experience, if they have basketball experience at all !!!

This could not be more wrong !!!

Why, with the plethora of big time retired college basketball coaches, is the Selection Committee not made up of at least 50% of these men ??? 

A retired basketball coach understand things an Athletic Director or Conference Commissioner does not and can not ... he is in the locker room, on the sidelines, and responsible for understanding competition better than anyone ... so why are retired coaches not on the Selection Committee ???

It's high time to consider having a Selection Committee which is more inclusive of basketball minds ... not administrators and alike !!!
