Milka Duno Finds Full Season Ride
March 8, 2010
IZOD IndyCar driver Milka Duno has signed with Dale Coyne Racing for the full 2010 IndyCar Series season.
This will be Duno’s fourth consecutive season in IndyCar, and it will be her first full-schedule season.
Duno will compete in all 17 races on the 2010 schedule, beginning with the Sao Paulo Indy 300 in Sao Paulo, Brazil this Sunday, March 14th. She will be driving the No. 18 car for Dale Coyne Racing, replacing Justin Wilson.
Milka has won on road courses before, but 2010 represents her most serious attack on the road courses of IndyCar. The team has planned an extensive testing program for the coming season with a focus on road and street circuits.
The team now prepares for its two-car entry at the first race of the season in Brazil on March 14th. An announcement of Milka’s teammate driving the No. 19 car will be made next week.
The race for the open spot for the No. 19 car is believed to be between Indy Lights champion J.R. Hildebrand and Alex Lloyd.
With Duno now running the full season schedule, there will be five women competing full-time in the IndyCar Series.
