Jimmie Johnson Fastest In Cup Practice

Jimmie Johnson was the fastest in Saturday morning Sprint Cup practice the first practice on the day. Final practice Happy Hour is set for 12 noon followed by the Truck race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a big day of racing. Johnson who is coming off two wins in a row at California and Las Vegas has overcame that bad start at Daytona and is now sitting fifth in Sprint Cup points and he is a former winner at Atlanta. Johnson's lap of a 29.23 at 189.694 mph was fastested followed by Mark Martin with a lap of 29.38 at 188.700 mph. The best 10 lap averages in practice the top spot went to Kasey Kahne and Marcos Ambrose, the weather looks nice for this weekend at Atlanta its going to be warm so the track will be hot and slick and Atlanta wears the tires alot so its going to be a interesting race on Sunday with Dale Jr on the pole.
