Spanish La Liga Previews Week 25

Almeria vs. Barcelona

The Juegos Mediterraneos side welcomes the champions in what should be a miserable night. Almeria currently stand at 13, but they have had convincing wins over Atletico Madrid and Racing Santander, by one and two goals respectively. However, Barca are on a class of their own, and it seems unlikely that there will be an upset. The Spanish players in the Blaugrana played decently against France, and Lionel Messi had a notable performance in the Germany fixture, so it is without a doubt that Pep Guardiola’s men are still in-form. Maybe Thierry Henry might see some limited playing time after some hatred from the French football fans, but at the end of the day, Barcelona doesn’t even need him to dismantle Almeria, so expect an away team win.

Real Madrid vs. Sevilla

An interesting matchup at Santiago Bernabeu, as the second best team comes up against the fourth best team. Seviall are barely managing to keep the fourth place spot in La Liga this year, as not only defense, but especially the offensive firepower has put the team down considerably this year. Contrastingly, the Galacticos are on fire recently, with 11 goals in the last two games. While Sevilla is no Tenerife nor Villarreal, if the Snachez Pizjuan side does not stay on their toes in the daunting away trip, they may see a loss by a big margin. Assuming Sevilla plays decently, expect a close win for Madrid, or maybe even a draw.

Valencia vs. Racing Santander

David Villa was on the score street for the Spanish team in their midweek international friendly against Germany. He certainly will look to replicate that form against Racing Santander. The Los Che recently suffered a surprising 4-1 loss to Atletico Madrid, but observing the way that they have played this year, Valencia should bounce back and beat a 16th placed team.
