Note To Future NFL Receivers: Sam Bradford Is Going to Make You Famous
This article is written by a man who sees life through Crimson shades. An undoubted "homer" if there ever was one. I understand that many may chuckle, or simply point and laugh at the moron that wrote this. However, if I'm right, I may not end up being the moron after all.....well maybe, but I'm cool with it.
Sam Bradford has all the tools to be the next great QB in the NFL. Something the NFL could use. There are some pretty good ones, but beyond Manning, Brady, and you have to now mention Drew Brees as current great NFL QB's, there seems to be a bit of a drop off after that. I do believe that Philip Rivers has potential to be, but his window of opportunity to be great won't be open forever. Cutler has too many mental deficiencies to ever be great. Remember the days when it seemed like every NFL team had a great QB? Staubach, Bradshaw, Tarkenton, Stabler, I could go on and on. What happened?
During the Spring game of '07, which was the battle between Bradford, Halze, and Nichols it became apparent that he was a little different. The way he would just hang in the pocket that day to make his throws, I just thought he was doing that because he knew he was wearing the blue jersey and wouldn't get hit. Turns out that wasn't the case at all. Scouts who are analyzing his film are recognizing that for sure. During the Texas game Brian Orapko was in his jock all afternoon, but he still threw 5 TD's, and wasn't the reason that game was lost. Same against that vaunted Florida defense in Miami. He did it as a Sophomore.
He only played 2 years at OU, and probably missed the equivalent of over 5 complete games due to blowouts. Yet his numbers are unmatched over a 2 year span. There is no question he owns every college football passing record if he stays 4. His TD to INT ratio is off the charts. He recognizes talent around him, and knows who to get the ball to and when. He's a film room nut....like say a Peyton Manning.
He's heard all the criticism over the last 8 months. Something tells me that was great motivation. Showing up at the combine at 236lbs kind of proves it. Yes, he's gonna make someone famous.......maybe even a Hall of Famer.
