PGA WINTER GOLF 2010 AND FANTASY UPDATES

Thomas MorelandMar 4, 2010

Sorry I’ve been out for about a month. Huge computer issues. All good now, as I will catch you up on my fantasy golf action so far this season.

In Week One we started the season with Geoff Ogilvy winning in Hawaii as I predicted, and my team, also including Sean O'Hair fourth, Zach Johnson 18th, and Jerry Kelly 23rd. This got me off to a very nice start in Yahoo! Fantasy Golf with 188 points.

Week Two brought us the Sony Open, also in Hawaii. This week I chose Zach Johnson, Rory Sabattini, Sean O'Hair, and Angel Cabrera. This team scored 142 points with 12th, 39th, 72nd, and 25th.

Week Three was the Bob Hope classic, a fun event in Palm Springs. My team this week was Heath Slocum, Brian Gay, Kevin Na, and Matt Kuchar. These guys managed a nice total of 212 points with 33rd, 15th, eighth, and second for Matt Kuchar.

Week Four was in Torrey Pines with Phil Mickelson, Robert Allenby, Charles Howell III, and Ryan Palmer. Week Four's warriors scored only 114 points with 19th, ninth, ninth, and 123rd.

Week Five was the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club. I chose in this week Steve Stricker, Robert Allenby, Stewart Cink, and Brandt Snedecker. This got me 180 points. Stricker won, Allenby got 27th, Cink 32nd, and Snedecker 20th. Two winners picked so far.

Week Six brought us to beautiful Pebble Beach where I chose what I thought was a good team for this course. Steve Marino, Dustin Johnson, Alex Prugh, and Ryan Palmer made up my team. Dustin Jophnson got me my third correct pick of the season, with Marino a bonus fourth, followed by Prugh at 27th, and Palmer at 70th. Another 168 points.

Week Seven found us at the Mayacopa Classic in Mexico. I took Heath Slocom, Briny Baird, Charles Howell III, and David Duval. This team scored 138 points with 13th, fourth, 20th, and 121st.

This brings us to present with the Phoenix Open.

I have my heavy, out west guns firing team going this week: Phil Mickelson, J.B. Holmes, Geoff Ogilvy, and Brandt Snedecker. I am currently in the 83rd percentile in Yahoo! Fantasy Golf in the 20,967th ranking.

There are four experts on Yahoo! I tried to beat last season, with not much success. But this season I seem to be on a bit more.

I currently have 1,142 points. Eric Planer is in the position of 7,057th and 1,210 points.
Greg Vara is in 14,984th with 1,169 points. Matt Romig is in 19,417th place with 1,149. And I am well ahead of Michael Arkush who is having a horrendous start this season. He in 51,721st with only 964 points. The leader in Yahoo! Fantasy Golf this season so far is "USAalltheway" with a whopping 1,398 points this winter.

I don’t know how they do it!

Well, we will be back soon, with more action.

No Tiger Woods comments. All we want to see is him playing golf, especially the Majors.
