Wrestlemania Predictions 1.0
Wrestlemania is less than a month away so I decided to have some fun and put together the first version of predictions. These predictions are based on total ring activity and not by storyline or backstage politics, in other words, all my predictions in this series are based on wrestling being totally legit.
The Wrestlemania card is still rather small and in the next few weeks, expect the event to grow by four matches.
Money In the Bank Paticipants-The Miz, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP
Two more participants are expected, but with the current competitors expect Christian to win. He has the most experience in Ladder matches and is coming off a long ECW title reign. Shelton Benjamin would be a second choice but he has a knack to choke in matches which mean something.
Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart
Have you seen the Muscle & Fitness issue with Mr. McMahon on the cover. Impressive, and is why he will defeat Bret. Hart will get in some good shots, but the ring rust will show at around the six minute mark. Mr. McMahon is in better shape, physically and even mentally. Bret has a broken foot and his emotions will cost him the match.
Batista vs. John Cena
John Cena will be destroyed by the over confident, arrogant Animal, but when Cena finally starts to figure out how to counter attack, Batista will slide out of the ring, just as he did a few weeks ago and get disqualified. Batista seems to finally have learned from HHH from the Evolution days on how to keep a title.
Chris Jericho vs. Edge
A comeback story is wonderful, but this one will not end up a happy ending for the Ultimate Opportunist. After being out for almost a year, a few tune up matches are helping Edge, but at the largest stage, Jericho will prevail. Edge will make a mistake late and Jericho will capitalize.
Sheamus vs. HHH
Sheamus choked during the Elimination Chamber. HHH has faced some of the greatest at Wrestlemania, from the Ultimate Warrior to the Rock to Jericho. HHH will not lose to a guy who got a fluke title win and was fortunate to keep the title for two months. HHH wins this match easily.
Undertaker vs. HBK
HBK has not been this determined since WrestleMania XII. The Deadman will use psychology to play into the mind of Michaels and at the end of WrestleMania, Shawn Michaels will be retired and the Undertaker will be 18-0. HBK is too obsessed with winning this match, he will lose focus on how to beat the Undertaker. Michaels should take a look at their matches from the late 1990's when it seemed the Undertaker could not beat HBK. The Undertaker is in the mind of HBK and that is how the Undertaker defeats opponents, psychological warfare.
So the first predictions are done, but who knows what will transpire in the next few weeks as the Road to WrestleMania continues.
