Kevin Harvick cashed in and won Saturday’s Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after overcoming a bad pit stop. He led the most laps and took the victory for the KHI No. 33 car and Rheem, giving Chevrolet its 350th win.

Denny Hamlin was second followed by Carl Edwards in third, with Brad Keselowski and Brian Vickers rounding out the top five. Trevor Bayne had a great run and finished sixth making him the highest finishing regular Nationwide Series driver.

Justin Allgaier was seventh—he was a front runner most of the race and really competed for the lead.

The race was delayed due to rain and the first caution came on lap seven when Kelly Bires had a massive engine failure and dropped parts over the track after hitting the wall hard in turn one.

After the restart, we saw a few laps of green-flag racing and then another caution when Micheal McDowell crashed going into turn one off the frontstretch. McDowell would make it back out but on lap 85 he and Danica Patrick would make contact, taking both of them out of the race.

Kyle Busch was strong mid-way through the race. He and Harvick exchanged the lead several times after Harvick had trouble on pit road. Harvick would have to work his way back up.

On lap 118 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. would spin and take his car to the garage. On lap 145 Brian Scott was running in the top 10 and had a spin similar to Busch’s spin in 2009 at Las Vegas going into turn four. He hit hard but was okay.

James Buescher had a bad day, crashing with 35 laps to go. At the restart with 30 laps to go, Colin Braun and Tony Raines spun, with Braun hitting hard.

That set up a dash to the finish. Harvick would be too strong as he cashd in and won in Las Vegas.

The series is off for two weeks and will be back March 20th from Thunder Valley—Bristol Motor Speedway.

Carl Edwards will keep the points lead by 41 points over Brad Keselowski.
