2010 NFL Combine: Ndamukong Suh Dines With Detroit Lions Staff

Michael SchotteyFeb 27, 2010

As of 4:00 on Saturday, Feb. 27, Ndamukong Suh has only met with one team—the Detroit Lions. He's met with them twice.

Word to the wise: as news trickles out of the combine, pay very little attention to who meets with who. The Lions are likely to meet in some form or another with every prospect, even the top QBs and TEs. It's called due diligence.

On the first night prospects are arrived, they are herded from team to team, rarely knowing who they're talking to.

However, what is notable is bigger meetings. If a team is buying someone a meal, it shows more than cursory interest. If a team has a second meeting to talk X's and O's with a player, it indicates at least a bit of desire.

The Detroit Lions and Ndamukong Suh would be an interesting marriage. Some (including this guy) have posited in the past that Gerald McCoy may be a better fit for what the Lions want to do.

The second meeting, a 10PM get together with the Lions new defensive line coach, Kris Kocurek and coordinator, Gunther Cunningham, was most likely to determine how he would translate from Bo Pelini's defense to Schwartz and Cunningham's.

Word has yet to trickle out regarding any meetings between Oklahoma tackle Gerald McCoy who has yet to meet with the media.
