The Miz: Is He "The One?"

john stantonFeb 26, 2010

I recently signed up on B/R to mention a topic that has surprisingly not been mentioned yet, and I feel I need to bring it up, since it seems more likely and likely. Many people have jumped on The Miz's bandwagon recently, claiming that he has improved greatly over the last months, and that he can be a main eventer soon. However, for the few people who have been "Mizfits" for the past 2 years, you know that Mike "The Miz" Mizanin is something very special.

2 Years ago, The Miz had nothing. His Mic skills were sub-par, even with him being on a reality tv show, his in-ring ability was more horrendous than that of Cena or Batista, and most importantly, he had nothing to create a storyline with; something that could get him in a minor title match.

Shortly afterwards, he joined a tag team with John morrison, and still was looked jokingly upon, since everyone knew Morrison was the future champion, and without him, the Miz would not be holding the tag team belts, slammy awards, or even weekly time on Raw. And when they split up, and Miz was the unfortunate one to end up on the overcrowded Raw roster, that the Miz's little momentum was finally about to crash down and die.

However, this is the part where Miz soared.

Once they split up, WWE booked The Miz to feud with the biggest star on Raw, John Cena. Cena was booked to squash Miz, and eventually beat him in a match that cost Miz his spot on Raw, and everyone thought he was done. However,  the next week he won his spot back in a heel fashion, and was pushed from then on.

A Couple months later, The Miz won the US Championship, and finally got real promo time. His promos got better and better at an unbelievable rate, and as his skill grew, WWE rewarded him with more and more time to build his character. He soon got to the charisma and talking level of, well, maybe even Jericho!

After that, the WWE finally saw what I had seen since he debuted.

They gave him a slow push that is resulting in him winning title by title and slowly closing in on main event status, what many people call a perfect push, unlike the stupid push Sheamus got. (That guy will probably be released in 3 years.)These types of pushes are usually given to people the WWe believe can be the centerpiece of the future.

He beat his old partner John Morrison, won the unified tag team belts, and now was chosen to mentor the top NXT rookie, Daniel Bryan. (Bryan Danielson)

Now, The Miz has everything. He has the top charisma and mic skills on raw, can cut any type of promo, his in-ring skills have greatly improved, and his character is golden, with many story lines to build upon. He can use his "two-titles at once" gimmick, or even my favorite "Mizfit" gimmick, which in reality is kind of real, where he tells about how everyone wanted him to quit, and he used it to ignite his fire and become the best.

Many people say his in-ring ability is not good enough, but let me tell you this. His ring work is already leagues ahead of Cena and improving. Plus, guys like Austin weren't great, just good in-ring, but were boosted by their amazing character, which Miz has more of than anybody right now.

On my final note, I want to say that the Miz is on the right track, and can not only be a future main eventer, but is on his way to pass up other young guys like Morrison, Kingston, Mcintyre, Dibiase, Rhodes, and even Cm Punk to become the next wrestler who carries WWE on his back. They tested him in everything, his passion, his desire, his want to get better, and he has shown better results than some of the main eventers! So yes, I will be the first one to say that The Miz can be "The One" to lead the next generation of WWE.

Yes, I believe the Miz is on track to be very, very, very awesome.
