Menard,Biffle Fast In Nationwide Practice Montoya Fast In Cup @ Vegas

Paul Menard was fastest in the first Nascar Nationwide Series practice on Friday for this weekends Sams Town 300 on Saturday from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a  lap of 30.22 Menard took the top spot followed by Greg Biffle A very clean first practice the only incident was early in the session when Scott Lagasse Jr had a oil line loose and dropped some oil and the car smoked down the backstretch the same issue that Brian Scott had last week in the opening practice at Fontana. Greg Biffle was fastest in final practice with a 29.62 Carl Edwards was second and Trevor Bayne in third. Greg Biffle won that race a year ago in Las Vegas for the Nationwide Series and after a second place run last week at California can he get back to victory lane this week.

In Nascar Sprint Cup Series practice Juan Pablo Montoya was fastest in his 42 Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with a 29.00 second lap which sets a new track record that was held by Kyle Busch last year at a 29.03. Sam Hornish Jr was second fastest followed by Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon. Dale Earnhardt Jr looked good early in practice as he took the top spot but then feel to 9^th overall Last years winner Kyle Busch was 8^th.

AJ Allmendinger had a motor let go in Cup practice and will have to go to the back on Sunday. Kevin Harvick earlier in the practice bounced off the wall in his 29 Pennzoil Ultra Chevy for RCR but they were able to fix the car. Nascar Sprint Cup Series Qualifying will be on Speed at 6:30pm est from Vegas for Sunday’s Shelby American at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Saturday's weather is'nt looking too good with a chance of rain all day so that could affect Nationwide Series qualifying, Cup final practice and the Nationwide Series race so we will have to wait and see it seems like Nascar has been troubled by bad weather every track they go to so far in 2010.
