Bayern: Oranje at The Allianz Arena, Diego Maradona, Ze Roberto and More

No fewer than ten Dutch men will be present at the Allianz Arena when Bayern take on Hamburg on Sunday in the Nord-Sud derby. Had Romeo Castelan of Hamburg and Edson Braafheid been present, the number would have been 12.

To begin with, on the Bayern side of things, Mark Van Bommel and Arjen Robben will be doing the job on the field while Louis Van Gaal, Andries Jonker, Jos van Diyk and Max Reckers will be in the dugout. Joris Mathisen, Elijero Elia and "Van the Man" Nistelrooy will be present for Hamburg

Bert van Marwijk, the Dutch National Coach will also be present. He might pay a trip to Van Bommel's home to check up on his daughter Andra and his grandchildren Renee, Thomas and Ruben.

Roy Makaay also decided to join in the Orange flavour and declare that Bayern will win the league and that Van Gaal is a very good coach.

Bayern vs Hamburg

Hamburg lost to PSV Eindhoven 2-3 in the UEFA Cup but made it to the round of 16 due to the away goals rule.

Ze Roberto will probably be playing against Bayern again. According to the Brazilian, Bastian Schweinsteiger is his successor at Bayern. He thinks that Ballack and Schweini will make a great defensive midfield pairing for Germany in South Africa.

Joachim Low has again picked Thomas Hitzlsperger for Germany despite the midfielder's loss in form. Are you listening, Low?

Ivica Olic will be waiting to get one over his former club if he gets a chance to come on the field. Marcell Jansen will want to do the same. Both teams will be fired up for this one. The teams produced a tactical display last time out with Bruno Labbadia "out- tactifying" Van Gaal. Hamburg won 1-0.

The game this time looks to be more open, especially due to Hamburg's current striking options. Bayern are not the strongest defensively. It is hard to call, but I will go with a 2-2 draw.

Oh Lucio, where art thou?

The world watched as Lucio produced a magnificent performance for Inter in the Champions League. Louis Van Gaal actually allowed Lucio to leave Bayern at the beginning of the season. The Bayern defence is not having the best of times with a pairing of Van Buyten and Demichelis.

Bayern would love to have Lucio in their ranks. In the return leg against Fiorentina,
Bayern will have to be strong defensively or face going out of the competition in its infancy.

Diego Armanda...Contento

Contento, the young Bayern fullback who is half Italian and half German revealed that his parents are Napoli supporters. They come from Naples in Italy. They named their son after their hero, Diego Armando Maradona.

If Contento makes it to the World Cup, it should be a delight to hear Maradona's reaction to having a German named after him.

Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller

The two lads have recently been called up to the squad which will take on Argentina on March the third at the Allianz Arena.

Toni Kroos won't be too happy to hear what Muller had to say about Leverkusen: “We have to keep looking only at ourselves. Leverkusen are strong, but we’re stronger. We want to lead the league and win the shield.”

Leverkusen meanwhile play Cologne in a derby. Hmm...interesting.
