Age is the worst part in being a football player. Frank Lampard continues to improve with age. But he can’t stay in that position forever. Everything has a limit.
The England midfielder has started his career in West Ham United in 1995. He has become a fantastic player from the start. He has shared his experience in Chelsea with notable legend such as Gianfranco Zola. Having much in his career, Lampard is going to retire in a few years time. He is a legend in the making. But who can replace that legendary player afterwards?
The answer to all questions lies in the 19-year-old Irish player, Conor Clifford. He has shown great skills in football and currently plays for Chelsea’s reserve team alongside the wonderkid Gael Kakuta. Fans have criticised him for being an inexperience player. That is true. But give the lad some time and he’ll prove he is the next Frank Lampard. Do you doubt it? Action speaks louder than words.
He is doing very great in the reserve team and currently is the captain. He is a central midfield player who is hard working, strong in the tackle with good distribution. One of the great abilities he has is the accuracy in shooting. One of his best goals is when he scores the goal of the season in the FA Youth Cup against Nottingham Forest on 12 January 2010. Every now and then his goals turn out to be beautiful.
So, should Conor Clifford replace Frank Lampard in the future or is there someone else more worthy than him? When the time comes, we will see.
