Frank Mir , "I'm Sorry"?

Joshua BoykenFeb 24, 2010

Dana White said that it won't happen again. He announced that if it did, it would not be good for Mir. They blamed it on emotions running high, and his "hatred" was just coming out. He lost his temper in other words.

Frank Mir said "I basically was (within) a half-an-inch of catching him. I knew he was hurt, but he had good leverage, with my shoulder against the cage. I made a stupid mistake. When I stood up, and he's screaming, it took me a few seconds to realize (what Lesnar was doing). ESPN showed him spitting and hollering. My children are looking. I'm shaking my head, pointing at my kids and going, 'That's not how you want to do it, guys. We'll be cocky, especially before a fight, to help sell it. I didn't degrade him [when I beat him at UFC 81] and say he was an idiot. There was no point to kick the guy while he was down. OK, I beat the guy. What, am I going to spit on you, too? If I can just nail that (weight) gap to even 10 pounds, it'll be a different fight next time. Hopefully next time, I'll show him how somebody is supposed to act in victory."

Those were the official comments on Brock's death threat. This is a not only a huge threat ot Brock but also one to the UFC. This could be expanded by millions of politicians and the whole world could hear it. This could be the turn for UFC, but it won't.

The apology from Frank Mir was well timed and public, ""I would like to apologize to Brock, his family, the UFC and the UFC fans for my stupid remarks. I respect Brock, all the other fighters, and the sport of mixed martial arts. I'm sorry that I stepped out of line."

There is no doubt that Frank stepped out of line, himself being a veteran and spokesman of the UFC does not need these things coming out of his mouth. Frank does not like Brock, but looking at Brock's last arrogant celebration, nobody else does either.

Frank was ahead with the fans, and now he might've lost alot of them. Frank and Brock is now only intriguing, because they hate each other, not because the fans like either one of them.

I don't believe that Frank ever meant this comments personally, he did say it, but it is like a immature thing on the playground, "I'm going to kill you," the six year old yelled as  he stood up. It is very similar to that, but the fight will be watched by millions and this could add even mor hype.

NOTE: I am sadly one of those Frank Mir fans I must admit, but I was not partial throughout this article, thank youl.
