HBK VS TAKER 2...."THE DARK KNIGHT" OF WRESTLEMANIA MATCHES!!!

Its official everyone, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker are on the road to a Wrestlemania rematch. Ever since HBK accepted the Slammy Award for his epic match at WM25 against the phenom, his obsession for a rematch has become progressively worse. With the results of “Elimination Chamber” and the stirring video package prior to the impressive match agreement on RAW, its official. Taker vs. HBK II is on. I for one couldn’t be more excited. However, there are many on here who feel this match is a mistake.

Only three part two's have been better then the firsts: The Godfather II, Terminator 2, and The Dark Knight. I use the reference towards Dark Knight because it’s the most current. There has never been a WM rematch. I know that The Rock & Austin have met at three manias, but they weren’t back to back, and the matches weren’t billed as rematches. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker II: Career vs. Streak! Now that sounds great. All the ingredients are here for an awesome sequel; the venue, the stakes, and this time its personal. Plus, rumors are swirling around the Internet that this could maybe be the main event at WRESTLEMANIA 26.

To all the nay’sayers out there, do you really think that Mr. Wrestlemania and The Keeper of The Streak are going to disappoint at the main event of the “Show of The Immortals” with both of their careers on the line (I feel that if Taker ever loses his streak, that’s when he’ll retire) in the greatest rematch of all time? I don’t think so!

I don’t want to write about the WM25 match because we all already know how everyone feels. Their first encounter on the big show has been called an instant classic, one of the best of all time, and the match of the year. Its not to often that we get to experience a “wrestling match” of that caliber. I remember thinking this is one of the best matches I have ever seen, and I’ve been watching (WWE/F, WCW, ECW, TNA) since 1996. Obviously the majority of the witnesses to this match would agree. So why does no one think it can happen again?

Has everyone forgotten who theses two men are? Its the “Demon of Death Valley” and the “Showstopper”! I read comments and articles about how their too old or worn out. Many say that their too old now, or that they cant compete on the same level as before. I say shame on you, to all the doubters out there. Seriously, has everyone forgotten who these two man are? Did you already forget about WM25? What about their amazing feud in 1997? In Your House, first ever “Hell In A Cell” match anyone?

Now before anyone jumps down my throat about how that was then and this is now. I am completely aware of that. I brought this to your attention because people need to remember what they can do when there are in the ring together. Young or old. When it comes to the age debacle. Hello, they are just a year older and are pretty much performing at the same level they were this time a year ago. Both of these superstars are veterans of the game. They know what they are doing.

Taker and Michaels are arguably the best performers in the history of the “Grandest Stage of Them All” and understand what WRESTLEMANIA is all about. Everybody knows that these men put the business before them. Do you really think if they had any doubt in themselves they would put up this match? Do you think that McMahon is a fool? They know what to do.

Now I admit, I don’t think you can plan to have a match that is going to steal the show. But I do think that at WM25 Shawn & Taker had a game plan, and executed it flawlessly. These two men perform under pressure and I believe are ready to live up to the hype. Now no one knows for sure what we are gonna see come WM26. I have a feeling its gonna defy the odds! Its gonna be the greatest wrestling sequel of all time and that’s why I call this match the “Dark Knight” of WRESTLEMANIA matches.

(On a side note, don’t ever doubt Taker. He suffered burns on his body at “Elimination Chamber”. Mostly on his chest. I ordered this event on PPV and have it on my DVR, Taker’s chest is looks like raw meat, its all pink, and they had to keep giving him water bottles to help him. He still went through the match and received physical contact to the affected area and still showed up the next day. Don’t doubt The Deadman.)
