Bears' Affairs : Chicago Interested In Peppers?

Dustin BrownFeb 23, 2010

Just a quick little article to keep hopeful Bears' fans updated, as there is some hope.

If you don't click the link, it basically states ; based from a source, the Chicago Bears are going to try and make a run for Julius Peppers.

As I'm sure you all have heard millions of times from ESPN, the Pro Bowler is set to become an unrestricted free agent this season. At the beginning of this season, analysts were ranking Peppers 2nd to Albert Haynesworth.

If the Bears were to let go of Ogunleye, who I personally like, Peppers would fill his shoes quite nicely.

Mark Anderson would take his spot, who had a great rookie season in 2006 on his way to recording 12 sacks. Hopefully, the Bears will not release Ogunleye, which is likely he will be cut, and Anderson will get back to his old form.

The basis of the Cover 2 defense is about pressure from your front 4 lineman. With Tommie Harris, whoever lines up opposite to him (Idonije or Adams,) Anderson (likely) and Peppers...I don't know about y'all, but it sounds pretty good to me.

If the Bears acquire Julius Peppers as a starting defensive end, add a safety and/or corner, I don't see a reason why the 2006 Chicago Bears defense can't be resurrected. But, all we can do is hope.
