NBA Draft Consensus Leaders: Wall and Turner Consensus 1 and 2

Mark ButerbaughFeb 22, 2010

The largest, oldest, and most updated NBA Mock Draft Database has been updated.  We have added an additional mock draft, bringing the total amount of 2010 mock drafts to 61.  Of the 61 mocks, 18 were updated in February.  Those are the mock we used to update the Database Top 7 leaders.

1st Pick:  JOHN WALL (FR, Kentucky)

At this point, there is not even a glimmer of an argument here with Mock Draft writers.  It is a unanimous 100% of all 18 mocks updated in FEB project Wall to go No. 1, which would appear the best chance to be the New Jersey Nets.  In fact, there has been absolutely no fluctuation in that result since we began updating the Database for 2010.

Wall's 2010 stats:  26 GP,  16.8 PPG,  4.1 Reb PG,  6.3 Asst PG,  .6 Blks,  1.9 Stls,  78.2 FT%,  46.3 FG%,  34.7 3PT %

2nd Pick:  EVAN TURNER

Evan Turner is now a CONSENSUS choice, much like Wall.  To be a Consensus choice, a player must be projected at a slot by at least 65% of the munched mocks.  Right now, 88% of the 18 most updated mocks project Turner to be the second pick in the draft. Turner and Wall are the only Consensus choices in the Top 7.

Turner's 2010 stats:  27GP,  19.5 PPG,  9.3 RebPG,  5.8 Asst PG,  1.9 Blks,  .8 Stls,  71.8 FT%,  54.1 FG%,  23.8 3PT%

4th Pick: DERRICK FAVORS (FR, Georgia Tech) / WESLEY JOHNSON (JR, Syracuse)

Same result, meaning, those picking Favors 3rd are picking Johnson 4th and vice versa.

5th Pick:  AL-FAROUQ AMINU (SO, Wake Forest)

Aminu is the projection of 28% of the 18 most updated mocks at No. 4.  This is obviously way off from being consensus and the picks behind Aminu are pretty scattered.  You can check out further breakdowns in our Forum.  Farouq has played in 25 games this season and is the leading scorer for Wake Forest.  Overall, Aminu is 6th in the nation in rebounding.

Aminu's 2010 stats:   25GP,  16.8 PPG,  11.0 RebPG,  1.4 AsstPG,  1.6 Blks,  1.5 Stls,  70.7 FT%,  46.8 FG%,  28.8 3PT%
