Cain Velasquez Wins In Devastating Fashion; Beware Brock Lesnar

Christopher DiCarloFeb 20, 2010

Attention Brock Lesnar: Cain Velasquez is for real.

Cain Velasquez has been a contender in the UFC since the day he stepped into the octagon vs Brad Morris. This 27 year old heavyweight title contender is taking out his opponents like a bully on an elementary school playground.

Velasquez is 8-0, 6-0 in the UFC, and arguably on the hottest streak in the UFC. If you have any doubts about this man's ability, watch his last three fights. Three top heavyweight opponents, three wins for Cain Velasquez.

On June 6, 2009, Cain Velasquez shocked the world by beating Cheick Kongo by Unanimous Decision. After being hit by two good shots from Kongo in round one, Velasquez fought back. He completely took Kongo out of his element, and forced him to take orders.

On October 24, 2009, just four months later, Cain fought former IFL Heavyweight Champion and UFC new comer Ben Rothwell. To say the least, Rothwell's UFC debut was unpleasant. Velasquez put him away in round two via TKO.

As the world saw, on February 20, 2010, Cain Velasquez solidified his place as the UFC's No. 1 Heavyweight contender. He absolutely dominated a UFC Legend in Minotauro Nogueira, winning by TKO to strikes just 2:20 into round 1.

If that isn't enough proof for you to believe that Cain Velasquez is a force in the heavyweight division, I don't know what is.

This kid is young, he has tremendous hand speed as we saw vs. Nogueira, beating him to every punch. He has unbelievable conditioning for a 245 pound man, he can last an entire battle. Cain also has a great camp, and group of coaches around him at American Kickboxing Academy.

I'm telling you, if I were Brock Lesnar, I would start watching tape and taking notes on this kid as soon as possible. Cain is the next big thing in the UFC's Heavyweight division.

Watch out Brock Lesnar, 'cause Cain is coming, and he's coming hard.
