Is The King of The Ring Worthy To Replace The Money In The Bank?

L P KFeb 20, 2010

The idea of the King of the Ring came to my head when I briefly thought about what could replace the money in the bank at wrestlemania, and I for one do not think it would be a bad replacement at all if done correctly that is. (built up well as something that is relevant etc)

The King of the ring tournament was something that gave future stars that much needed push to superstardom (e.g Stone cold steve austin, Bret Hart, HHH, Kurt angle, Edge, the list goes on and on). Why not let it do the same thing again but this time on the grandest stage of the all. On its own on as the main showcase of a PPV might be a bit lame in todays wrestling world as it offers nothing by winning and to base a whole PPV around it seems a bit wastefull, but having it at wrestlemania (much like how the money in the bank previously was) as an extention of the show would be something that would work as its not the sole main purpose of the night and would be something that adds to the whole atmosphere of wrestlemania. It would also give superstars who would be originally missing out on the show due to the removal of the money in the bank their moment to shine and not be left out.

They could do the whole tornament in one night one match after the other and do the special king celebration afterwards. I think it would be a great way to open the show and not a bad replacement for the Money in the bank in the slightest.

This could really help somebody get that needed push that they need to the top (which winning three matches in a row at wrestlemania can only help) and it would give the winning superstar bragging rights that they could use for the entire year to follow.

This could be much more beneficial than winning the money in the bank as that could be percieved as luck, but beating three different guys one after the other, that would be something to boast about and be proud of. especially if a quite over guy i.e Kane is in the match and is beaten that could really help the winner with their future endeavours. As the win would be at wrestlemania and would really count for something.

So you have heard what i have had to say but what do you think about the KOTR returning at wrestlemania with all its history to go with it, a good idea or a bad one?
