Tiger Woods Could Have Learned A Lot From Derek Jeter

When was the last time you heard some wannabe reality TV star bimbo threatening to spill the beans to tabloids about New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter involved in an adulterous relationship with her?

When has Jeter had to stand behind a lectern and tell the world he was sorry for committing adultery?

Time is up.

It has never happened.

When does the Yankee captain and World Series hero have time to cheat on Mrs. Jeter with a stripper, barista or with your average groupies when there is not a Mrs. Jeter?

Jeter, the consummate professional, respected by all major leaguers for his clutch play during the regular season and postseason has executed his off the field gameplan to perfection when it comes to his love life.

Instead of settling down with “The One,” he has played the dating scene almost as well as he does the diamond for 162 games a season.

You know Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson, Mariah Carey, Vanessa Minnillo, Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba. Now bombshell actress Minka Kelly has been spotted around New York hanging with Jeter. Talk about a great starting lineup.

Jeter’s ability to stay a bachelor for months at a time has gained him more respect among his peers, and kept him out of the TMZ and National Enquire spotlight Tiger Woods now finds himself in with the news of his romancing everyone from waffle house waitresses to adult film starts.

Temptation for professional athletes exists at every stadium, hotel, club and restaurant for married jocks. Desperate women throw themselves at these millionaire ballplayers all in the name of money, sex and more importantly notoriety.

And as we have seen with Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Steve McNair, Alex Rodriguez and others that not sticking with those wedding vows has led to $4 million “I’m sorry” diamond rings, divorces and even worse.

Jeter knows he can’t just be with one woman right now just like he can’t be content with winning one championship. Maybe before an athlete pops the question to his long time boo, I think it would be wise to contemplate the power of you know what first.

Tiger does not have to craft a 15-minute statement to apologize to me or the American public. We don’t control is bank account. Sponsors do.  Those are the entities he needed to make amends with. Not us. They crafted his image. They told him what to say. Told him when to smile, cry and laugh. Programmed to ooze perfection on and off the golf course.

But sometimes even the perceived perfect man needs to engage himself in sex rehab treatment.  When will we see Tiger on the golf course again? The world does not know at the moment. At least we now know he is human just like Jeter.
