Turning Point For Randy Orton

This is just quick thought that came to my mind as I watched the RAW episode that has passed us by.

Sheamus was fighting with Randy and Cody came out and screws it up. Once again we have Cody costing Randy a win as he lost to Snow White via DQ. I was a bit disappointed at the idea to repeat what happened at RR as a way to keep the ball rolling for this feud, but I'm still interested so I guess that doesn't matter. (Aside from that, Vince vs Bret has to just stop. Please)

Now, what I started thinking about was when exactly did Orton become a fan favorite? Now excluding die hard Ortonites like myself and a few Orton-marks, we have fans who've been cheering for people like HHH and Cena suddenly cheering for Orton. I don't mean a little RKO chant here and there, I mean deafeningly loud Randy, or Orton, or RKO chants that rock the building.

As most people know, I want Orton to stay heel. However, if he's an anti hero face I'm okay. But lately, he's passed that point. Some might say that it's because he's fighting with the most UNLIKEABLE person in the WWE (aka Sheamus) that everyone's rooting for him.

But take a few steps back to Kofi. Kofi's a good guy, yet everyone was cheering for Orton. Now go further back to Cena. Yes. SUPERCENA. You could hear people again cheering for Randy. I even re-watched WM25 and I could pick out the few lengthy and loud chants for Randy - and he was fighting The Game for crying out loud.

If fans and haters were cheering for Orton way back then, why did WWE not act on it? It then hit me that maybe WWE was simply trying ignore the boos for Cena and the like and ignore those cheers for Randy because at the time he was the viperous heel. Now, he's fighting this Snow White guy and people are talking about him going face really really soon.

That is ,without a doubt, the truth.

My questions to all of you are: When will Orton give in to becoming a face? Do you think/believe that if Randy goes face (babyface) then the fans who are now chanting his name will suddenly turn on him? Or will Vince hit the jackpot with having Orton as his new Superman?
