Pregame Report: Denver Nuggets at Cleveland Cavaliers
With the Denver Nuggets(35-18) coming in to face the red hot, and brand new Cleveland Cavaliers(43-11) we know this match up won't be a complete blowout, but what can we expect from these two powerhouses?
The Cavaliers are fresh of the All-Star break, with the brand new addition of Antwan Jamison, while the Nuggets stayed quite during the deadline. Some questioned whether the Cavaliers needed to trade, but I am pretty sure the main reason was to keep LeBron, in Cleveland, for years to come. Last time these two teams faced each other, on January 8, 2010 the Nuggets edged out a victory, beating the Cavaliers by 2, a score of 99-97. But that was before this magnificent run by the Cavs.
The Cavaliers are hoping to maintain this streak, after they haven't played in a week. Before the Antwan Jamison trade James said "I think our team is built to win a championship, with the group of guys we have here,(and) if we continue to get better, we're headed in the right direction." Lebron has faith in this team, and is confident they will win a championship.
This has been an eventful week for the Nuggets, too, but for all the bad reasons. The head coach, Geroge Carl, has been diagnosed with neck and throat cancer, this is a second recurrence when the got cancer in 2005, which was prostate cancer. "It was shocking just to hear it," forward Kenyon Martin told the Nuggets' official Web site. "He told us he's battled it before so he knows what it takes to get right. He's going to do all he can to get his body right and his health together and we're going to do all we can to make sure the basketball end is taken care of."
This should be an emotional game for the Nuggets, and a statement game for the Cavaliers. Post game report will be after the game.
