Sol Campbell Scores, Arsenal Loses 2-1 To Porto, but Let's Talk Goalies

The last appearance for Sol Campbell in Arsenal colours during his previous spell with the club was in the Champions League. Sol scored a header from a set piece. Arsenal went on to lose the game 2 - 1 to Iberian opposition.

Not much has changed in 4 years has it?

Arsenal went behind last night to comical goalkeeping from Lucas Fabulous, who was once a glimmer of hope for this Almunia shock horror goalkeeping situation, but it seems to be that he's even worse than the Spanglishman.

I'm a bit pissed off.

How the fuck can Wenger buy a Spanish AND a Polish goalie who are shit. I mean both of those countries have other fantastic goalies on offer and we've made to find the turd in the haystack.

Almunia comes from the land of Casillas, Canizares, Reina, Molina, Diego Lopez, Sergio Asenjo, Aranzubia - all fantastic goalies. While Poland isn't so spoiled in this respect they at least have Dudek and Boruc who is a bit mad, with the hookers, and the Sectariaism, and the crazy anti-proddie rants, but he's capable of a great performance from time to time.

And we get two keepers who are fond of THROWING... or if not throwing at least GUIDING the FUCKING BALL... into their OWN FUCKING NET. If you bleacherreport editors remove any of those words expect your wall to be littered with profanity, because the word FUCK is the only way I describe the immense amount of furious rage I feel at Arsene Wenger and the guys he signed to stand between the white posts on the pitch (something which they have also been knonw to neglect).

Goalie is a special position. It's tough, you are out of the game for long spells having to sit there and pick Daisys, or pray, or whatever the fuck you do when you are bored out of your gob, but need something to occupy their time... I KNOW MAYBE THEY WRITE BLOGS!

 Anyway, it's tough, but its not like Fabianski had nothing to do for 65 minutes, and we were winning 3 - 0 so he switched off. No. We were 10 minutes into the game. Varela beat Clichy with some fancy spancy moves and then fizzed in a relatively tame cross right into the middle of the goal, and Lucas Fabulous, threw the ball... or at least guided it, into the net. 

I know I know, you are repeating yourself ArsenalAdam, but I think it is crucial/ essential/ mandatory/ obligatory to explain how awful this is. It would have been bad if he had spilled out into his goal mouth, ie. in front of goal, that would have been terrible. It would have been bad if he'd pushed it out the side, that would have been not great. But chucking it into the place where the ball is not supposed to go, that is inexcusable.

He's been shit before as well, he was crap against Chelsea in the FA Cup and the reason we lost the game. That's right. THE REASON.

What is wrong with you?

I mean I see what you are going for, you want to have some experience with Almunia and sign a young goalie for the future. Unfortunately you have signed an inexperienced oldie with the Spanglishmen, and a goalie who doesn't look like he's fit for the present or the future of Barnet FC.

I'm a little pissed off.

I read today that there aren't very many good goal keepers in the world, and the greats can be counted on one hand... Bollocks.

Cech, Van der Saar, Reina, Friedel, Given. There are five excellent goalkeepers. There are five fingers on one hand. I've filled my hand moron. Where am I gonna put Buffon and Casillas?

The thing that really gets me going is Friedel. Here is a guy who has been excellent for 10 years, and was a FREE signing and we chose to stick with Almunia. I get it. Friedel is 38 he's almost done. But I'd rather get 2 years out of skeletor than wait 5 years for Lucas to figure out on which side of the line the ball should be.

That's all I'm saying this 18th of February 2010. I normally don't call for signings, but unless this Scsesney guy is Jesus Himself. I'm not interested. Sign a god damn goalie Arsenal, sign a good one Arsene.
