Manny Pacquaio's Top Five Wins Vs. Floyd Mayweather's Top Five Wins
Manny Pacquaio has recently been on a warpath in three different weight devisions, and makes a very strong argument on being the best pound for pound fighters on earth
He has had so many great fights and great victories that narrowing it down to five can become very difficult.
5. Ricky Hatton
This fight wasn't a fight that all Pacman fans will remember, but it is a very good showing of what Pacman can do. Manny came off a big win over Oscar and then cut down to destroy Hatton in just two rounds.
This was Hatton's first loss at this weight division (140) and second loss ever.
4. Erik Morales III
This fight was the final part in one of the greatest trilogies of the decade. They had two phenominal fights against one another, but this one sticks out to fans the most. This was a huge win for Manny, because he made the great mexican champ shake his head, "no."
This was another dominating performance on the resume of Manny Pacquaio and ended a great trilogy.
3. Marco Antonio Barrera I
This fight was Manny's come out fight for some normal boxing fans. He stepped into a fight with Marco with little odds to win. He came out and annihilated the mexican assassin in just eleven rounds.
This was Marco's fourth loss in his career, and one of the most rememorable.
2. Oscar De La Hoya
This was the fight that created what Manny is today. Manny was considered a great fighter and one of the best in the world. He met Oscar in the ring in a awkward weight for him and looked his best, and that was the most surprising thing of this fight.
Manny was also a huge underdog when steppping in the ring with the six division champion.
1. Miguel Cotto
This fight was really a imprint on all of boxing. Manny punished a great Peurto Rican for all the rounds he needed too. A very adgitating fight for both fighters, and both of them landed some really nice shots.
There was alot of excuses made for Manny not being the best : He beat an old Oscar, he fought a slow, sluggish Ricky Hatton at the right time, and he struggles with Juan Manuel Marquez. This time he fought a legit welterweight and absolutely destroyed him.
Honorable mentions: Juan Manuel Marquez II, Marco Antonio Barrera II, Erik Morales II, Jorge Solis, and David Diaz
Floyd Mayweather Jr. hasn't fought the best of competition in allot of peoples opinions. He might not think of who he has beat, but you can still not become the best without beating some of the best. I hope this changes your opinion on his opponents.
5. Genaro Hernandez
This was his first title fight with just seventeen fights and seventeen victories. This was for the WBC Superfeatherweight championship, Floyd's first title fight.
He came out and dominated a experienced, and added Genaro's second loss on his record.
4. Ricky Hatton
Fighting at junior welterweight would've been a much more exciting and intriguing fight. They did not, however they fought at welterweight, and Floyd destroyed the sluggish Ricky Hatton.
This was Ricky's first loss in his professional career.
3. Juan Manuel Marquez
This is being really nice to put Juan this high on the list. I really don't think this fight proved much at all. Floyd looked really well, but he was fighting a really good 135 or 140 pounder. He just straight up picked him apart. I believe it deserves three, because Floyd was coming back from a nearly two year layoff and did not show it.
This was the perfect comeback for Mayweather, because he is fighting a top five pound for poind fighter in the world. He also knew he would dominate the sluggish, aging, and out of weight class Juan.
2. Jose Luis Castillo II
The first fight with Jose was tough and challenging, but the second was very close and Floyd almost lost it. This fight was really the first fight that showed Floyd's heart and will to fight.
Floyd came out and did pull off a very tough decision.
1. Oscar De La Hoya
This will make the top five on practically the hype alone. This fight was played just right, and thats why you saw eight digits on their paychecks, a sold out arena, and millions watching around the world. Mayweather came out and got the job done, but was put into some rough situations through the fight.
One of the most famous fights of the last century and it proved to be a great showing from Floyd. He did not dominate the way some thought he would though.
This was a huge win for Floyd, even though he was not fighting the best Oscar ever. This fight could very well bring alot of arguments as to this being Floyd's bets fight, but I think that the hype of the fight, and how Floyd composed himself in the fight brings this one to number one.
Honorable mentions - Zab Judah Jose Luis Castillo I, Diego Coralles I & II, Arturo Gatti, Carlos Baldomir, and Jesus Chavez
