Please Swiper, Don't Hurt 'Em

Drew SmithFeb 16, 2010
No Swipe, No.
That is what comes out of my mouth when Tennessee forward Renaldo "Swiper Boy" Woodridge has the ball and looks to shoot.
Lately, the Vols have struggled and although they have other problems than Woolridge, he has not exactly helped his team on the offensive end. Last week Tennessee suffered two road losses to Vanderbilt and Kentucky and the sophomore was a combined 3-of-11 from the field and 0-for-4 from 3-point range.
It gets worse.
Dating back to Tennessee's 71-69 win over Ole Miss on Jan. 16, the budding rap star is 6-of-36 from the field and 1-for-17 from behind the arc. That is 17-percent overall and six percent from three.
Quite the shooting slump.
On the other side of things, before the Ole Miss game he was a 46-percent (13-of-28) 3-point shooter and hit 53-percent of all his shots. So we know he can knock down a shot. Woolridge was money against Kansas going 4-for-6 from three, but lately he has gone broke from deep.
I really hope he finds his shot soon because no one outside of Scotty Hopson and Wayne Chism can knock down a three. Gone are the days of Chris Lofton and JaJuan Smith knocking down shot after shot from long range.
Hopefully, Swiper Boy and the Vols can get back on track against Georgia. Tennessee (18-6, 6-4 SEC) returns to Thompson-Boling Arena Wednesday to face the Bulldogs and things tip-off at 8p.m.
Georgia (11-12, 3-7) handled Tennessee in Athens and it is coming off a big win over South Carolina on Saturday.
Another loss to Georgia would be a huge blow going into this weekend's trip to South Carolina.
Prediction: Won't happen. Georgia can't win on the road. 78-62 Vols.
