Time Is The Enemy and So Is The Offensive Line.

Look at this picture and you will see a thing of beauty, an offensive linemen doing his job well. In 2007 Hasselbeck had probably his best year, that year with a good O.L. that gave him time to make plays. Hasselbeck averaged less than two seconds between the time a play started to the time he got rid of the ball (notice how I did not say completed passes) in 2009 (1.5-2.0 seconds) less time than the normal time a QB had to make a play. We all know who Jones is, and that there are not to many like him. Time and the offensive line go hand in hand, without a good offensive line you're teams timing will be out of tune. Think about it, Hasselbeck never had time to get in a rhythm last year, the teams offense was one of the worst last year with time of possession, which means the defense was on the field more than they should have been which means less progress or big plays on defense because of how exhausted they were most of the season. I could turn this into a domino affect 5 minutes long but lets face it if Jones does retire which it looks like he might, Seattle needs to hire (time... (young talented O.L.), before they hire anything else. A good O.L. is what wins in the NFL, to me time is what wins in the NFL and without a good O.L. no one will stand a chance, even the great Manning needs time to do something. Point is if Seattle does not make the first few drafts towards the O.L. especially L.T. then I for one will root for someone that does have a good O.L. Then find offensive, and defensive players to try to make the team later in the draft, Seattle has plenty of talent, however the O.L. is the key to any teams success I often wonder how good this team would have been if Hasselbeck would have had that extra 1.5 seconds like some of the best QBS had this year. Seattle has the talent all around, just not the time to do anything with it. If Seattle re-builds a solid foundation the team will become solid, timing wise, and talent wise. It would be crazy not to focus first on the O.L. because with out time what do you got?, Nothing!!!
